The incredibly talented singer and songwriter Marta Gomez has released her new album called La alegría y el canto. Not only does it make us happy to have been part of this great project, but we are also very proud to announce her nomination for the 2018 Grammy Awards. Find some of her songs in The Kitchen.

New Identity
We are delighted to show you the New Identity, drawn by Daniela, a great illustrator and member of our group based in Barcelona. The tenderness and strength revealed by her drawing had a deep impact on us. The story she wrote and drew with birds truly inspired us, as it recalls Diaspora Woman’s philosophy and therefore represents our website:

Training
As part of the “Peacebuilding and promotion of coexistence after violence” program, the International Catalan Institute for Peace (ICIP) works, in the field of strategies of memory, truth and reconciliation, by supporting different processes and initiatives, and by reflecting on different working methods. The Truth, Memory and Reconciliation Commission of Colombian Women in the Diaspora is an initiative led by citizens to contribute to peacebuilding in Colombia. Using a participatory and feminist methodology, this commission develops a project of documentation of the experiences of Colombian women in the armed conflict and in their migration processes. The objective is to help heal trauma and to contribute to the formal processes of truth, memory and reconciliation from the experience of the diaspora. Find all the info here.
